A LEGACY THAT GOES FURTHER

A Story That Spans Generations and Borders

Fundación Alzamora Altamirano Hermanos began with a family deeply rooted in Trujillo, Peru, whose connection to the city continued across generations and across borders. As the family grew between Trujillo and New York City, visits home became an opportunity to stay connected to relatives, community, and the place that had shaped generations before them.

During one of these visits, a desire to give back to local children and families inspired what would become the family’s first charitable effort. What began as a simple act of giving soon brought together children, siblings, aunts, uncles, grandparents, friends, and members of the wider community.

Over time, that shared commitment grew beyond a single moment of giving—laying the foundation for what would eventually become Fundación Alzamora Altamirano Hermanos.

FROM A GIVING MOMENT TO A GREATER PURPOSE

Led by Family in Trujillo

As we grew, family members in Trujillo became the foundation of its work on the ground. Their presence within the community allows the organization to remain closely connected to the children and families it serves and to better understand where support can make a meaningful difference.

Today, these family members lead the foundation’s local efforts—building relationships within the community, identifying needs, coordinating with local organizations and businesses, sourcing supplies and services, and organizing each campaign from planning through distribution.

Their continued involvement ensures that Fundación Alzamora remains locally connected, thoughtfully organized, and deeply rooted in the community it was created to serve.

Across Borders, One Purpose

SAME PURPOSE. DIFFERENT PLACES.

As we have grown, so has the community behind us. In New York City, family members, friends, supporters, and local partners help sustain the foundation through fundraising, community outreach, events, and new relationships that expand the network of people invested in its mission.

Much of the foundation’s fundraising takes place in New York, while the work itself remains rooted in Trujillo. Funds raised are directed to the team on the ground, where supplies, goods, and services are sourced locally whenever possible. This approach allows contributions to go beyond providing immediate support to children—it also keeps resources within the community and builds relationships with the local businesses and individuals who make each initiative possible.

The connection between New York and Trujillo has become an important part of Fundación Alzamora’s identity. One community helps mobilize resources and support; the other brings local knowledge, relationships, and hands-on leadership. Together, they allow a family-led effort to reach further while remaining closely connected to the place where it began.

Different cities, generations, and roles—united by a shared commitment to creating brighter beginnings for children in Trujillo.
